Daidalos sutureless natural vascular connectors

  • Sutureless connectors for proximal anastomoses in CABG surgery
  • Sutureless connectors for distal anastomoses in CABG surgery
  • Sutureless end-to-side anastomotic devices
  • Sutureless side-to-side anastomotic devices
  • Sutureless end-to-end anastomotic devices

Advantages of the Daidalos technology
The sutureless vascular connectors for natural vessels of Daidalos make use of memory metal Nitinol.

All Daidalos connectors can be used to make end-to-side, side-to-side, or end-to-end anastomoses with natural vessels. All these connections are made without manipulation or eversion of the vessel wall to prevent damage and consequently hyperplasia of the intima layer of the vessel wall.

Most other vascular connectors that came to the market, like the Symmetry® device of St Jude (not available anymore), or that are still available like the Pas-port® and C-port® connectors of Cardica, are using an end-to-side technique for which substantial vessel wall manipulation and eversion are needed. The C-port® connector of Cardica to facilitate a distal anastomosis in coronary bypass surgery (CABG) requires that an extra small hole in the grafted artery is made and closed by a handplaced and hand tied suture at the end of the procedure.

With the Daidalos side-to-side anastomotic devices a better early and long-term patency is expected because no vessel wall manipulation and eversion are required. The Daidalos sutureless anastomotic technology is truly sutureless, and no further hand suturing will be necessary.
